Mark Siney - Character Actor & Baritone
 
Mark began singing in public at the age of seven when he joined the local church choir. He followed this up after school with local musical theatre and operetta productions.
 
Since then Mark has appeared in West End shows such as "Oliver!" directed by Sam Mendes and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, where Mark covered the role of Mr Sowerberry. He also spent several seasons at Her Majesty's theatre in "The Phantom of the Opera" as understudy Monsieur Andre.  In the German production at the Neue Flora, Hamburg he played the role of  Reyer and covered the role of Monsieur Andre.
 
Mark has created two new musical theatre roles, comedy magician J.C.Cannell on the UK tour of "Houdini The Musical" where Mark was delighted to be allowed by the legendary Kohl & Co to replicate their magic act within the show, and Nice Guy in the comedy review "Get Naked! (The Boys Are Back In Town)" which had it's world premiere in Amsterdam before touring the UK.
 
His many Operetta roles include  Frosch the drunken Jailer in "Die Fledermaus" alongside "Carry On" veteran Fenella Fielding, Kromov in "The Merry Widow" directed by Michael McCaffery and understudy to Timothy West and Colin Baker as Sir Joseph Porter KCB in Carl Rosa's production of "HMS Pinafore". Another highlight has been performing the role of Sir Joseph Porter KCB with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Concert appearances include performing as one of Ireland's 3 Tenors within "Spirit of the Dance" , The Doctor in "Du Barry was a Lady" for BBC Radio3 and his own tribute to Matt Monro, "Shades of Matt".
 
 
Recordings include the role of Mr. Merryweather in the BBC/Big Finish Dr. Who audio adventure "Dr. Who and the Pirates" and "Sondheim Tonight".
 
 
He is also a professional Pantomime Dame and Villain and has just completed playing Dame for a second year at the Thameside Theatre, Grays in Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood. He was also delighted that his Dame was featured as part of The Kiehl's London Christmas window display in Selfridges, Oxford Street in 2009.
