Mark began singing at the age of seven when he joined the local church choir and carried on at The Blue Coat School under the guidance of Roger Johnson. At thirteen he saw his first West End Musical at The London Palladium which gave him the drive and enthusiasm to seek a professional career on stage. After leaving school he spent another season as a Blue Coat but this time for Pontins, Jersey under the direction of Scott Paige which culminated in a summer season in Paignton supporting comedian Jimmy Cricket with his own award winning act. Since then Mark has appeared in a wide range of productions forging himself a niche as a highly sought after character actor and lead vocalist. He has performed in The West End as understudy Monsieur Andre in "The Phantom of the Opera" at Her Majesty's Theatre, London and Monsieur Reyer in the German production at The Neue Flora, Hamburg. He also understudied the role of Mr Sowerberry on the last National tour of "Oliver!" directed by Sam Mendes, choreographed by Matthew Bourne and starring one of his childhood favourites Russ Abbot. Other influences have been Sir Anthony Hopkins, Peter Sellers, Kenny Everett and vocal legends Matt Monro and Perry Como. Mark has also created two new theatre roles, comedy magician J.C.Cannell on the UK tour of "Houdini" and Nice Guy in the musical comedy review "Get Naked!(The Boys Are Back In Town)" which had its world premiere in Amsterdam. His many Operetta roles include playing such diverse characters as Frosch the Jailor in "Die Fledermaus" alongside "Carry On" veteran Fenella Fielding, Kromov in "The Merry Widow" directed by Michael McCaffery and understudy to Timothy West as Sir Joseph Porter KCB in "HMS Pinafore" at the Helix, Dublin. Another highlight has been performing the role of Sir Joseph with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Concert appearances include performing as one of Ireland's 3 Tenors for "Spirit of the Dance" at Harrahs! in Atlantic City, The Doctor in "Du Barry was A Lady" for BBC Radio 3 and his own tribute to the late Matt Monro, "Shades of Matt". Recordings include the role of Mr. Merryweather in the BBC/Big Finish Dr. Who audio adventure "Dr. Who and the Pirates" starring Colin Baker & Bill Oddie. Mark is also a professional Pantomime Dame and Villain. Mark performed in "An evening with Mark Siney" at The Peacock Lounge in Huddersfield on November 7th and will be appearing as Dame Trot in Jack and the Beanstalk at The Dorking Halls December 19th 2008 - January 4th 2009. Mark is delighted to be represented by Russell Hawkins of Entertainment People Management.
